SSEF 2019
The Singapore Science & Engineering Fair 2019 was held on 6 & 7 March. This is a national competition organised by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Science Centre Singapore (SCS) for students to share their passion in research through communication of their project findings to experts in the various fields.
This year, ACJC submitted 11 projects of which 6 were shortlisted for the final judging on 6 March 2019.

We are pleased to share that the following projects received awards:
- Silver Award – ‘AMn 2 O 4 (A= Co, Mn, Fe, Ni) as an Anode Material for Lithium Ion Batteries’ by Ching Jaymi Mae Lim (2SA5) (pictured above). Her project was also awarded a special award from the Institute of Electrochemistry.
- Merit Award – ‘Direct Patterning of Bismuth Sulfide on a sub-10 nm Scale using Electron Beam Lithography’ by Sourick Paul (2MD3) (pictured above)
- Merit Award – ‘Investigation and Optimisation of Aerodynamic Performance of Biomimetic Gliders for Future Transportation’ by Zhang Haoyu (2SA5) (pictured above). His project was a collaboration with Temasek Junior College, and it was also awarded a special award from the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science (SAAS), and another award from the Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD).
- Special Award from the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science (SAAS) – ‘Optical Vortex Beams for Improved Data Encryption Through Manipulation of Topological Charge’ by Glenn So (2SA1) (pictured above) [in collaboration with National Junior College]
