A Large Barrel of Laughs

On the 11th of February, ACSian Theatre and the alumni returned to the stage with A Large Barrel of Laughs to kick off the celebrations for ACJC’s 40th anniversary. The cast and crew comprised of alumni from the batches of 2014 to 2016, who relived their old days of dancing, singing and acting all in one show, once again portraying the well-meaning but blundering ACJC Drama Society. This time, the ACJC Drama Society is back with an ambitious production of the hit musical Chicago, hoping to make up for the mess of the last show.
The night started off with a jazzy rendition of Cell Block Tango before the night turned into a series of unfortunate events, as the club realised they did not acquire the rights to stage the musical. Assisted by the retuning clowns Max Talent, Robert Thespian and their new accomplice Lerry the Le, ACJC Drama Society reconfigured to bring the audience a string of various hilarious short plays, demonstrating the alumni’s chops for comic acting and clever wordplay.
The alumni are truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to come together once again and put together a show. We would like to thank our teachers, Mrs. Geetha Creffield, Ms Michelle Wong, Mr Joel Chin, Mr Tobias Teo, Ms Low Tze Hui and Mdm Baljeet Kaur for making this show possible. We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to the audience, for without you, the show cannot go on.
To God Be the Glory, the Best Is Yet To Be!
