RDCA Distinction Scholarship Award

The College would like to congratulate Nur Hazimah Bte Mohamed Nor (2SB9, Class of 2008), on being awarded the RDCA Distinction Scholarship 2016 at the Ridzwan Dzafir Community Awards for her PhD in Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management at Wageningen University, The Netherlands.

Outstanding Graduate Student Award

The College would like to congratulate Ng Meixi (2AD2, Class of 2006) on being awarded the Educational Change Special Interest Group Outstanding Graduate Student Award by the American Educational Research Association for her 'exemplary and original reseach on educational change.' Ms Ng is currently a doctoral student at the University of Washington.

Herbert H. Lehman History Prize

The College would like to congratulate Toh Ghee Wei (2AD2, Class of 2011) on being awarded the Herbert H. Lehman Prize for Excellence in History by Columbia University, for his thesis, 'The Contested Development of Nationalism in Colonial Malaya, 1930 - 1955'.

National Arts Council Youth Poet Ambassador

The College would like to congratulate Pooja Nansi (2AH, Class of 1999), on her appointment as Singapore's first Youth Poet Ambassador.

2016 Beazley Design of the Year

The College would like to congratulate Ding Eu-Wen (2SG1, Class of 2003) on winning in the  the Transport category of the 2016 edition of Beazley Designs of the Year, an annual competition organised by The Design Museum in London. His design, is the Lumos smart bicycle helmet, studded with LEDs that automatically light up when a cyclist brakes or makes a turn.

2016 Singapore Wind Symphony Orchestra Young Composer's Challenge

The College would like to congratulate Peter Bruce Gale (2SD3, Class of 2013) for winning the Singapore Wind Symphony Orchestra's Young Composer's Challenge 2016. His composition, Malay Dances, premiered at SOTA on 22 January 2017, and was conducted by renowned conductor Johan de Meij.

Singapore Management University School of Accountancy Valedictorian

The College is proud to announce that the DBS Valedictorians for SMU's School of Accountancy (SOA) for the graduating years of 2015 and 2016 are ACJC alumni. 

Darren Ong Wei Sheng (2SA1, Class of 2008) was the DBS Valedictorian for 2015. While at SMU, he was the founding president of the SOA Volunteers Corp, continuing the community service commitment that he had begun in ACJC. Darren received an unprecedented 10 graduating awards. In addition to his selection as Valedictorian, he was the SPH Magazines Salutatorian, and received the SMU Circle Award, the Professor Tan Teck Meng Gold Medal, the KPMG Accounting Gold Medal, the PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Achievement Award, the ISCA Gold Medal, the EY Outstanding Student Leader Award, the Citi Best Final Year Accountancy Student Award, and the Aw Kim Swee Financial Accounting Award.

Ko Hock Seng (2SB4, Class of 2009) was the DBS Valedictorian for 2016, and achieved a total of 6 graduating awards. These include Professor Tan Teck Meng Gold Medal, the KPMG Accounting Gold Medal, the ISCA Gold Medal, the Deloitte and Touche Gold Medal, the CPA Australia CPA Program Award for the top Bachelor of Accounting Graduate and the Aw Kim Swee Financial Accounting Award.

The College celebrates the outstanding achievements of its alumni, and wishes them all the best in the future.

2016 Singapore Police Force Scholarships

The College would like to congratulate Ang Yu Shen (2AA3, Class of 2014) on being awarded the SPF Local Merit Scholarship.

2016 Singapore Armed Forces Scholarships

Alumni in the News: Dr Kevin Koh

Dr Kevin Koh (2SC2, Class of 1999) was featured recently in the Straits Times for his start-up company's work in taking innovations from prototyping to commercialisation. While Dr Koh was a student at ACJC, he was part of the Music Elective Programme and a member of the ACJC Concert Band.

Alumni in the News: Tay Yu Hui

Tay Yu Hui (2SC3, Class of 2009) was featured recently for her ethically-centred entrepreneurship in making cruelty-free cosmetics brushes. Her interest in animal rights was sparked in JC when she watched a video on cruelty to animals.

Nathaniel Hartono (2AD2, Class of 2009) was featured in the news for his performance in Sing! China. The College wishes him all the best as he advances in the competition.

Alumnus Receives Prestigious Award At Teachers' Investiture Ceremony

Yap Chin Hua (2SD2, Class of 2007) was awarded the Rotary International 75th Anniversary Gold Medal at the 2016 Teachers' Investiture Ceremony for his outstanding leadership, service to student activities and to the community. While at ACJC, he was on the Principal's Honour Roll for his outstanding all-round achievements. He graduated with First Class Honours in Biochemistry from Imperial College, London, and completed his Masters in Genetics at Cambridge University.

ACJC Alumna Selected for Prestigious Military College

SAF Academic Scholarship holder, Lieutenant (LTA) Christabel Chai (2AD4, Class of 2014) has been selected to attend the prestigious United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. She is heading to USAFA for four years from this June to complete a Bachelor’s degree in the military college under the SAF Academic Scholarship for overseas study. She has already completed her Basic Military Training and has graduated as a commissioned officer from Officer Cadet School. She is the first woman from Southeast Asia and from the SAF to be selected for this programme.

ACJC Alumna to represent Singapore at Rio Olympics

Saiyidah Aisyah Mohammed Rafa'ee (2AH, Class of 2006) is the first Singaporean rower to qualify for the Olympic Games. Saiyadah was a 2013 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games champion and a double bronze medallist at the 2015 SEA Games. The College wishes her all the best for the Rio Olympics.

ACJC Alumni Making a Difference

Suraj Upadhiah (2AD2, Class of 2006) and Shahril Hassan (2AA3, Class of 2007) were featured in local media for their work with foreign workers in Singapore through the social enterprise organisation they founded, Amber.
