ACSian Theatre at the Singapore Youth Festival 2016

On the 27th of April 2016, Anglo-Chinese Junior College’s award-winning Drama Co-Curricular Activity (CCA), ACSian Theatre brought “The Adventures of Odysseus” to the Goodman Arts Centre Black Box for the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF).

The Singapore Youth Festival is a biannual kaleidoscopic showcase that serves as an outlet for students to showcase their artistic talents. It was an honour for ACSian Theatre to be a part of such a meaningful festival. We are very pleased to announce that “The Adventures of Odysseus” by ACSian Theatre has achieved the Certificate of Distinction!

The “Adventures of Odysseus” is a physical theatre performance that follows Odysseus and his son, Telemachus, through their travel home after the long Trojan War. An adaptation of “The Odyssey” by Homer, the performance utilises dramatic storytelling and stylised choreography to propel the story of the protagonist. It follows the pair’s journey to save their loved one, who was in the hands of disdainful suitors. This energetic and powerful performance created an unforgettable piece that left audiences in awe. The ensemble’s tireless efforts paid off after seeing the audience reactions.

We are greatly humbled by the support given to us and would like to extend our gratitude to our dedicated teachers, instructors and alumni for their unending encouragement and guidance throughout this wonderful journey. It wouldn’t have been such a success without their invaluable support.

This piece was also performed at a national showcase, The Teller and the Tale. ACSian Theatre is honoured to be able to be part of this celebration of local artistic talent.

To God be the Glory,
The Best is Yet To Be!
