From 19th to 30th April, the ACJC Bowling team competed in the 23rd National Schools Games Bowling Championship 2016 ‘A’ Division. After months of training and hard work, we are proud to announce that our boys have emerged champion and our girls, 1st runner up.
Being the defending champions this year, we set off with a clear goal in mind --- to retain our double gold. We knew that it was not going to be an easy battle, with strong competitors such as Raffles Institution and ACSI, but we were prepared to give in our best, for the team and for the school. The day finally arrived and we entered the competition with fervent hearts. Our boys took the lead from the very start. On the other hand, our girls had a shaky start as RI surprised us with their exceptional performance. It undermined our confidence a little but determined to achieve our ultimate goal, we continued to fight tenaciously till the very end, encouraging and motivating one another along the way. Our boys eventually took the gold, while our girls settled for the 2nd place.
One Team, Unshaken
This journey was a rocky one, but it was all worth the effort, for the friendships made and memories shared will be forever held close to our hearts. Although we did not live up to the legacy left behind by our seniors, we have fought the good fight, and AC Bowling will definitely come back tougher next year.
To God be the Glory, The Best Is Yet To Be!
