Five ACJC students emerged as Bronze Medallists at the 24th Singapore Chemistry Olympiad

On the 19th of November 2012, Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) participated in the 24th Singapore Chemistry Olympiad held at the National University of Singapore (NUS).  Our team of students had a week long special training leading up to the written test jointly organised by the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry, the Chemistry Department of NUS and the Ministry of Education. We are pleased to announce that five of our students emerged as Bronze Medallists in the recently concluded competition. The college congratulates all of them for their achievement.

“I think the most enjoyable part about the Chemistry Olympiad was the training. Sitting down for three or four hours straight every day for a week having a chemistry crash course may not sound like much fun, but somehow, it was. I guess part of the excitement and intrigue came from learning things which were out of syllabus at such a fast rate. What’s more, much of the content covered was syllabus that was going to be covered in our J2 year, and it helps me to understand the topics better and faster when touching on them again this year.”
